Fine Hoarding

THIS PAST WEEKEND MY MOTHER-IN-LAW JOINED ME AT THE MONTHLY ANTIQUE MARKET IN THE WEST BOTTOMS. SHE HAS A GOOD EYE AND ALWAYS POINTS OUT AN ITEM OR TWO I WOULD HAVE OTHERWISE MISSED. WE WERE LOOKING FOR A TABLE TO BE USED IN A CRAFT AREA SHE IS DESIGNING. SHE FOUND IT WITHIN MINUTES OF ARRIVING. FOUR FEET OF VINTAGE OAK AND IRON WITH A LEAF THAT TAKES IT TO SIX FEET. THEY WERE ASKING $265 AND SHE SUCCESSFULLY OFFERED $24O.

THE TABLE WAS ORIGINALLY FOUND IN GLADSTONE, MISSOURI IN THE HOME OF AN EX-ANTIQUE DEALER (WHO CONTINUED SHOPPING EVEN AFTER HIS BUSINESS CLOSED), THE HOME WAS STACKED TO THE CEILING WITH BEDS, LIGHTS, FIREPLACE SCREENS..ETC, ALL BEAUTIFUL.

FINE HOARDING IS THE NAME OF MY FRIENDS BUSINESS IN ST. HELENA, CALIFORNIA, BUT THIS CLEVER COMBINATION OF WORDS MOST DEFINITILY APPLY TO AN EX-ANTIQUE DEALER IN GLADSTONE, MISSOURI.
